Dear Friends,
As we approach Thanksgiving, we have much to be thankful for. In 2020, when we started advocating for open schools and a return to normal for our nation’s children, we were alone and unsure. We had yet to meet fellow parents across the country who were fighting for children, too. Two and half years later and what started as a small grassroots effort of angry vocal moms, has turned into an international parent movement.
All because people like you cared.
We are thankful for you. Thank you for showing up to rallies. Thank you for pressing your elected officials with letters and calls. Thank you for posting on social media. Thank you for lifting one another up.
Natalya and I founded Restore Childhood earlier this year to restore and protect childhood via a three-pronged approach: Advocacy, Education, Research, and Litigation. Through our Advocacy & Education workstream, over the past six months and into the New Year, we have been filming our docuseries “15 Days…” , an examination of how extended lockdowns and school closures have impacted America’s children– from school closures, to zoom school to ensuing mandates that have changed the day-to-day reality of school for millions of children around the country.
We also continue to uncover and amplify the real stories impacting children and families through our Substack. On Youtube our educational film archive continues to grow. Please subscribe to both!
We are also currently funding much needed research in an effort to fill the knowledge gap that exists surrounding policy that impacts children- from harmful COVID-19 interventions to the infiltration of technology into our youngest learners’ classrooms.
Over the past two years, our founders, board members and supporters have spearheaded multiple lawsuits to get children back into school fulltime in the least restrictive manner. Parents in places like New York and California are now waiting anxiously to see whether incumbent governors will reinstate past mandates. If they do, Restore Childhood will be there to push back.
This Giving Tuesday, we are asking if you believe in our mission that the needs of children should be prioritized, and protected, to please consider being a grassroots supporter to ensure Restore Childhood remains strong and continues to grow. We are a registered 501(c)3 so all donations are fully tax-deductible.
No one else is doing this work. But it MUST be done.
We are ever grateful for your support- we couldn’t do it without you!
Wishing you a happy & healthy holiday!
Dana and Natalya
