Virginia's Meg Scalia Bryce Appointed to State Board of Ed
Daughter of the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia is featured in our upcoming film "15 Days..."
Parents are taking this country back! Just look at Virginia.
Yesterday Virginia’s Governor Youngkin appointed Meg Scalia Bryce, the former school board candidate and mother of four to the state’s board of education. Students and parents can find no better advocate for their rights than Meg. Had we heard from more voices like hers during the pandemic, our children would not have suffered behind screens and masks for so long. We love Meg’s work so much that we feature her and her children in our upcoming school closures documentary “15 Days…”
Like Meg and so many parents across the nation, during the pandemic when schools abandoned our children, we became activated.
We realized that the problems in our schools went far beyond bureaucratic bloat and some not-so-great teachers and administrators. In fact, the system was working exactly as intended to by those in positions of power - teachers unions, education technology companies, and overly educated academics pushing their bunk theories.
While these players continue to try to manipulate the system for their own gain, they can no longer do it comfortably behind the curtain or under the veil of their so-called expertise. From school boards to court rooms, from rallies in front of city hall to prime-time TV, parents are here to stay, and we are making an impact.
Look no further than all of the influential parents groups that came together during the pandemic, now going strong - from Parents Defending Education to Moms for Liberty to our own Restore Childhood and so many others. We are all educated on the issues, connected to the decision-makers and working to take our schools and children’s futures back from the special interests that have been profiting off the degradation of health and education of our children.
Restore Childhood has had the special honor of documenting the rise of the parents movement in 4K. From 2021 to early 2024 we traveled the country, conducting interviews with doctors, lawyers, writers, parents and children who experienced the school shutdowns firsthand. “15 Days…” is in its final stages of production and will be released this fall.
The teachers unions and their allies will try and paint appointments like Meg’s as being “politically motivated,” but as our documentary will show, these positions were hard fought for and earned.
